Profile: Dr. Lim obtained a B.Eng. (1989) in Mechanical Engineering (Aeronautics) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), a M.Eng. (1992) in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS) and a PhD (1995) in Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. From 1995 to 1997, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Civil Engineering, The University of Queensland, Australia. He was later appointed as a Research Fellow at Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Hong Kong from December 1997. In February 2000, he joined Department of Building and Construction, City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor and later promoted as an Associate Professor in February 2003. He is also a Guest Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) since March 2006.
Dr. Lim is a fellow of International Biography Association, Cambridge, England since 2000. He is a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Acoustical Society if America (ASA) and Structural Engineering Institute of ASCE. he is also a member of The Hong Kong Institution of Mechanical Engineers (HKIE) and a Registered Professional Engineer (RPE). He has been listed in Marquis Who's Who in the World, Dictionary of International Biography and Marquis Who's Who in Science and Engineering. Among the awards Dr. Lim has obtained are Best Academic Performance Medal in Mechanical Engineering (Aero) in 1989, University of Queensland Postdoctoral Fellowship (1996-97), University of Hong Kong Research Fellowship (1998-2000).
Dr. Lim has published a book on Symplectic Elasticity, more than 130 refereed technical papers and more than 60 international conference papers. His publications have attracted more than 850 independent citations in refereed international journals, numerous technical notes, international conferences papers and research theses since 1993. He is the Associate Editor (Asia-Pacific Region) for Advances in Vibration Engineering, and on the editorial board of three other international journals, as well as in the International Advisory Committee of numerous other international conferences. He has attracted more than 20 research grants as Principal Investigator and others as Associate Investigator since 1995. He also acts as a reviewer for books published by John Wiley & Sons, Kluwer Academic Publishers and for technical papers of more than 40 prestigious international journals.
Prof. Cees de Bont, Loughborough University, Loughborough, England

Profile: Professor de Bont is currently the dean of School of Design, Loughborough University. Before that, he was a dean in Delft and in Hong Kong and he worked at Philips Royal Electronics. His research covers design education, consumer behaviour, innovation adoption, design methods and networked innovation. He has published in many international journals, including Design Studies, Design Issues, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, the International Journal of Cultural and Creative Industries, She Ji: The Journal of Design, Economics, and Innovation and the Journal of Design, Business and Society.
Prof. Thomas Kang, Seoul National University, South Korea

Profile: Dr. Kang is a Professor in the Department of Architecture & Architectural Engineering and Director for Engineering Education Innovation Center at Seoul National University, South Korea. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor in the School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK, USA. He has held various affiliated positions in the U.S. and Japan, including Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Adjunct Professor at the University of Oklahoma, and Lecturer at UCLA, University of Hawaii at Manoa and the University of Tokyo. Prof. Kang received his PhD from UCLA, his MS from Michigan State University, and his BS from Seoul National University.
Prof. Kang is a world-class scholar in the field of post-tensioned concrete structures. He is a Fellow of Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) and a Fellow of American Concrete Institute (ACI). Prof. Kang received the Kenneth B. Bondy Award for Most Meritorious Technical Paper as Lead Author from PTI in 2012, and the Wason Medal for Most Meritorious Paper as Lead Author from ACI in 2009 with the subject of post-tensioned concrete. He regularly teaches the course of Post-Tensioned Concrete Structures at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign every other summer (both on campus and online) and at the University of Hawaii at Manoa every fall (live online lectures). Prof. Kang is Associate Editor for PTI Journal of Post-Tensioning Institute. He is one of the founding and voting members of PTI DC-20 Committee, Building Design, and a voting member for Joint ACI-ASCE Committee 423, Prestressed Concrete. He joined the effort of publishing the PTI Building Design Committee document, Guide for Design of Post-Tensioned Buildings, as one of the authors.
Prof. Kang has also served the international community as a voting member for ACI Committee 369, Seismic Repair and Rehabilitation; Joint ACI-ASCE Committees 335, Composite and Hybrid Structures, and 352 Joints and Connections in Monolithic Concrete Structures; Joint ACI-ASME Committee 359, Concrete Containments for Nuclear Reactors; and many committees for Korea Concrete Institute (KCI) and other institutions in Korea. As well, he has served as an Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Structural Integrity and Maintenance, Taylor & Francis Group, and Advances in Computational Design, Techno-Press. His extensive service has a strong impact on the growth of structural engineering societies.
Prof. Kang published more than a hundred international journal papers and more than a hundred international conference proceedings, including 31 in ACI Structural Journal and 9 in PTI Journal. He has chaired many sessions/symposiums of structural engineering; delivered many keynote/invited speeches; and organized international conferences/workshops as a Chair. Additionally, Dr. Kang has done a lot of practice as a consulting engineer in South Korea and the U.S. Prior to joining the academia, he had a working experience in California, USA (e.g., John A. Martins & Associates), and was a licensed Professor Engineer (PE) in California.

Prof. Kyung-Jae Shin, Kyungpook National University, South Korea

Profile: Dr. Shin is a Professor in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea, and a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in South Korea. Prof. Shin received his PhD of Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, MN, USA, and his BS and MS of Architectural Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. He was a research scholar in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Washington at Seattle, WA, USA in 1999 for his first sabbatical year, and in the School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK, USA for his second sabbatical year. Prof. Shin was a Vice President of KSSC (Korea Society of Steel Construction), and served as a Chairman of Organizing Committee of ISSS-2015 (The 8th International Symposium on Steel Structures), which was held by KSSC. He is currently an Associate Editor of IJOSS (International Journal of Steel Structures) and JAABE (Journal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering), both of which are Science Citation Index (SCI) journals. He is also working for the Committee of KBC (Korean Building Code) Revision. Prof. Shin published over 100 journal papers including ASCE, ACI, PCI and Engineering Structures Journals. He also published several books such as Plastic Design, Steel Design based on KBC, Structural Mechanics – Learning by Small Test, and Understanding of Steel Structure and Standard Details of Steel Connection, which are used as a textbook for many undergraduate and graduate classes in South Korea and as a reference for practicing engineers.

Profile: Dr Ranganath M Singari is a professor, department of production & industrial engineering, Delhi Technological University. He is a graduate from Karnataka University, postgraduate and doctorate from University of Delhi. He has more than 24 years of experience in industry, teaching and research. He joined Delhi College of engineering in 1998 in Department of Production and Industrial Engineering. He has made contribution in the areas of Production Engineering, Metal Cutting, Advanced Machining, Industrial Engineering and Automation. The centre for Advanced Production and Industrial Engineering research (CAPIER) at Delhi Technological University has been initiated and functioning under guidance of Prof. Ranganath. He is also editor in chief of international journal of Advanced Production and Industrial Engineering (IJAPIE). He is reviewer of National and International Journals. He is having Experience of organizing Faculty/Staff Development programs, Workshops and Seminars. He initiated International Conference on Advanced Production and Industrial engineering (ICAPIE). ICAPIE’16 and ICAPIE’17 both were great success. He has published a good number of papers in journal and conferences. He is a life member of ISTE, ISME and CSI.
